Memories of Phillip Williams
This is memorial is difficult to write. Phillip Williams was a strong, kind, fun, athletic young man, and he was my first boyfriend. He was bright, sweet, trustworthy, and had so much potential. He had a sad/lonely homelife and were each other's best friend. We'd sit and talk for hours. We even fell asleep on the phone together. There is no telling how far Phillip would have gone if he had not climbed on the back of Mondo's motorcycle that beautiful day in Alameda. Nearing Webster on Buena Vista an older woman backed out of her driveway and Mondo bailed...Phillip hit the station wagon head first (prior to helmet law) @ about 30mph. He lived for 2 weeks in ICU. I went everyday and told the nurse in ICU that I was his sister Laloni who at that time was in Hawaii. Everytime I'd sit by him with his two blackend eyes, broken arm, leg, and collar bones. I sat and constantly talked trying to get him to pull thru for two weeks...then one day when I showed up for my daily visit the nurse that didn't believe I was his sister in the first place said to me, "If you were his sister you would know he died, but you must have loved him since you were his only vistor." I was hoping that I was only missing his mother and father, aunts and uncles...but no. Such a loss.
With Love Phillip,
Sorry, 1974 was Phillip William's graduation year. It isn't easy writing more than one memorial. My appologies.
